Today’s review covers a skincare line that I have been testing out for about two weeks, and have subsequently fallen in love with: OSEA.
OSEA is a family affair, inspired by four generations of women’s long love and respect of the ocean and its healing properties.
The ingredients in this skincare line are as clean as I’ve ever seen, and interestingly enough, OSEA was the first company to sign The Compact for Global Production of Safe Health and Beauty Products which launched the Skin Deep Report.
“I want to leave this planet a cleaner place than when I arrived. (Like being a good house guest) I also want women to be able to use the safest cosmetics possible. Remember 70% of what you put on your body can be absorbed into your bloodstream. I want to raise the consciousness of women so they use safe cosmetics, it’s not just about beauty – it’s about their health.”
– OSEA Founder Jenefer Palmer
What you will always receive from OSEA are the highest quality, naturally-sourced skincare that is vegan, gluten-free and biodegradable. What you will NOT receive are products laden with synthetic fragrances, genetically modified ingredients, petrochemicals, parabens, or sulfates.
Sounds good to me!
Again, I spent two weeks faithfully using OSEA’s skincare morning and night. The following are the products I used:
1. Ocean Cleanser
An OSEA classic, Ocean Cleanser is rich in minerals, algae, dermal proteins, vitamins, and mineral salts with a delightful natural fragrance. This multi-tasking hydrating formula effectively removes dirt and impurities, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and energized. Ocean Cleanser is free of chemical surfactants and great for easy makeup removal. pH balanced.
I love that OSEA doesn’t use fragrance; this cleanser was soothing and milky against my skin, which is combination oily/dry skin of confusion. Seriously, my skin is SO sensitive and finicky. It is very difficult to find products that won’t irritate it and cause it to break out.
I use makeup remover wipes first, as most of the jobs that I perform require makeup, and the ocean cleanser did a good job of removing the excess that inevitably is left behind even after a thorough makeup remover wiping.
2. Sea Vitamin Boost
This refreshing spray delivers immediate hydration to dry, sun-damaged skin. A potent blend of Pomegranate and Red Wine Extracts gives this moisturizing mist its beautiful rosy color and accounts for its powerful anti-aging effects on skin. Organic Patagonian Gigartina algae stimulates cell renewal while hydrating, soothing, and protecting your skin.
I used this spray as a toner, obviously, and I already need more. I tend to go spray-happy on toner when it is in spray form, but I like it to settle on my skin and don’t like wiping it away.
Some toner dries me out (and I get ugly flashbacks to the time I thought it was a good idea to just use witchhazel as toner), but not this one! Because of the anti-aging ingredients and vitamins, I feel like it just rejuvenated my skin that much more.
I also used this to set my makeup and it worked quite well in that respect, too!
3. Atmosphere Protection Cream
A lightweight moisturizer that protects skin from dehydration and damage from environmental aggressors. The super emollient algae base ensures instantaneous absorption while the advanced blend of dermal proteins increases elasticity and leaves a matte, silky finish. An amazing, invisible base for makeup application.
My kingdom for a moisturizer that doesn’t leave me as shiny as a diamond. Oh wait. This moisturizer actually hydrates my skin and does not leave a sheen of failure in its wake! Hurrah!
Seriously though, I love this moisturizer. Algae really agrees with my skin and my tummy, though, so I am certain that has something to do with how well my face has taken to this vial of joy. A+++ moisturizer.
4. White Algae Mask
This multi-tasking anti-aging mask corrects uneven skin tone and soothes redness while visibly firming and lifting. Formulated for an immediate, brighter, more luminous complexion.
Last but not least, the white algae mask! I used this once each week, and each time I rinsed off the mask, I saw a huge improvement in my overall complexion.
Again, I really do agree with OSEA’s decision in using ingredients from the sea; algae is such a healing component and works wonders for my skin, at least. (Everyone’s chemistry is different!)
I used the mask again just before writing this review: here are the during and after pics!
And no, there are no filters on either photo.
So what are you waiting for? Try out this amazing, family owned, non-toxic, ocean obsessed skincare line.
Let me know what you think! Does it work for you?
