Sooo I had the wonderful opportunity to try a subscription to FoodFlo – a vegan food delivery service that delivers to CA, NV, and AZ!
FoodFlo boasts delicious, whole food plant based recipes via French gourmet chef Florence Bertheau.
For more than 20 years, chef Flo cooked for her many students and celebrity clients the way she had learned in her native France, rich in butter and creamy sauces, heavy on meats, eggs and dairy. Then a paradigm shift happened. She began to see how certain foods had a profoundly positive effect on the health of her autistic daughter and on Flo herself. She created her own food pyramid based on three principles: Vegan, gluten-free and alkaline pH-balanced. Menus began evolving. Flo started using dense plant-based hypo-allergenic foods such as sprouted grains, nuts, vegetarian proteins, fresh greens and produce from local farms.
Flo’s journey of ‘health through food’ balances her company values of fresh and raw food nutrition with social and environmental consciousness; being aware of how what we eat affects the earth and all animals that live on it. Purchasing seasonal and local, she is able to provide the best quality products that are cost efficient, reduce the carbon footprint, all cooked with the intention for your good health.
I tried a week’s worth of menu items, and felt absolutely amazing afterwards. The meals were hearty but not heavy, and all of the ingredients were incredibly fresh. I especially enjoyed their handmade snack bars, pictured above!
They packed everything to perfection, as well – the meals came cold and fresh and ready to go. I was very impressed.
I highly recommend this service, especially if you don’t have time to meal prep during the week! You’ll have all the benefits of an organic, gluten-free vegan chef for a great price and a minimum of fuss.
